Sundar, Siddharth lead TN rout against Jharkhand
After winning the toss and opting to bat at Surat, Jharkhand's decision proved to be a disastrous one as they struggled to get going and time the ball throughout the innings. With a highest partnership of 17 runs, regular wickets pegged them back against Tamil Nadu as Washington Sundar (4-0-10-3) and M Siddharth (4-1-18-4) ran through the batting order to skittle them out for 85 in 18.1 overs.
A relatively slow start in chase of a paltry 86, in addition to a couple of wickets, may have just about start to trigger a panic attack, but Washington Sundar, promoted to No. 3, seemed to be in a hurry and raced to a 22-ball 38 to see Tamil Nadu through to a clinical win over Jharkhand on the final day of the Super League.
Tamil Nadu end the Super League at the top of the table, with three wins and one loss, with a semi-final spot theirs, whereas Jharkhand end with four losses in four games at the bottom of Group B.
