Legspinner Ravi Bishnoi has been handed a call-up to the senior side for the upcoming white-ball series against West Indies, the BCCI confirmed on Wednesday (January 26) while announcing the squad. The selectors also spun a surprise by including batting allrounder Deepak Hooda and handing a recall to Kuldeep Yadav. Both these players have been picked only in the ODI squad.

Kuldeep has been on the sidelines for a long time and was only handed an opportunity in Sri Lanka last year when India were forced to pick a second string side. Lack of wickets in the middle overs during the recently-concluding ODI series in South Africa seem to have forced the think tank to go back to Kuldeep. Pacer Avesh Khan has been picked in both the squads, with the selectors opting to retain Bhuvneshwar Kumar only in the T20I set-up.
