West Indies find themselves in trouble once again after their batsmen failed to put up a fight yesterday. Their top-order batsmen faltered against some quality bowling from Australia. The fact that four of their batsmen were dismissed playing at balls that could have been left alone or dealt with caution, explains their poor short selection.

On the other hand, Australia had another great day at the office. Although they stumbled at the start, Steve Smith once again came to their rescue and bailed them out of trouble with a majestic 199. With the ball, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon were the stars performers and they made the batsmen dance to their tunes with some fine bowling. Both the Mitchells - Johnson and Starc played supportive roles and overall, the Aussie bowlers were top-class to watch. In fact, things could have been even better for the visitors had they not dropped a couple of chances.
West Indies still trail by 256 runs with only two wickets in hand. Will Australia strike early to remove the tail and ask them to bat again? Only time will tell. Let's find out....
The ninth-wicket pair brought up the half-century stand in quick time. With two fours off Mitchell Starc in the 57th over, Holder helped West Indies past the 200-run mark and also ensured that the hosts avoided the follow-on.
Jason Holder and Kemar Roach put on a defiant partnership to frustrate Australia in the first session on Day 3. Holder did not hesitate to play his strokes as he batted positively while Roach provided him good support by showing solid defence as the ninth wicket pair brought down the deficit. Holder was at his counter-attacking best from the start of the day, starting with a couple of boundaries off Josh Hazlewood before hitting the pacer for the first six of the day. Johnson was not spared either while Holder scored a boundary off Lyon in the 54th over before going over long-off for a maximum to bring up his second Test fifty.
With a single off Roach in the 31st over, Warner brought up his 14th Test fifty. In the same over, Marsh guided one past gully to help Australia to the 100-run mark. Warner helped himself to a six and a four in the 36th over after Jermaine Blackwood bowled a couple of short deliveries. In the following over, Marsh scored three off Roach to bring up his fourth Test fifty. However, Warner departed soon after, mistiming a short delivery to hand Ramdin a catch. Warner headed back on 62, ending a partnership worth 117 runs. Marsh then scored a boundary off Blackwood while Steven Smith got off the mark with a four off Roach to extend Australia's lead to 300.
