Hasan Ali holds nerve to give Pakistan 3 run win

Final Over - 4, 4, Dot , wd, Dot , W , 1

Pakistan were in control at the start of the final over and not quite so after the first two deliveries off the final over when Sunil Narine nonchalantly picked off the young Ali for fours. At six from four, Ali resorted to bowling cutters - a ploy that bore rich dividends. Narine missed two deliveries either side of a wide and was run-out off the fifth ball. Holder needed a 6 (or a 4 to force a super over) but could only dig out a full length delivery for a single.

Thrilling, thrilling win for Pakistan and West Indies can't seem to shrug off this poor run against this Asian side. They are 0-2 down and can only tie the four-match series hereon.

In retrospect, how crucial was that 24 from Wahab at the end of Pakistan's innings. Got them to 132, which is four runs more than the average at QPO, Trinidad. Proved to be the difference. And then Shadab Khan, the youngster's stocks keep rising. Seemed so happy with the challenge, even when Marlon Samuels was going hamemr and tongs!

This series promises to be fun. Do tune in for the third T20I on Saturday , also at the same venue. Until then, ta-ta!

Wahab castles Brathwaite; 14 needed off 6

Pace is pace yaar. Wahab cleans up Brathwaite with a brute measuring 148 kmph. Holder manages a boundary but there's hardly anything else. Terrific penultimate over.

So Narine and Holder will need 14 off the final over bowled by Hasan Ali. Advantage Pakistan surely?

Holder, Brathwaite keep WI in the hunt

Nothing fancy from the two all-rounders. They trust their six-hitting abilities to bail them out even with an ever-increasing required rate. One Holder flick past the infield gives him four to reduce the equation to 30 off 3.

Holder also uses his long hands to good effect as he smashes Tanvir for a six in the next. Five more singles make it 11 for the over and now WI need 19 off 2.

Shadab spins Pakistan into control

This youngster's got spunk. Pakistan are right on top now and it all started with a moment of madness from Kieoron Pollard. Big polly stepped out to Shadab in a bid to keep the scoring rate going and was stumped by Sarfraz rather easily. Rovman Powell then a got a first baller - one that spun past his bat to crash into the off-stump.

The biggest wicket came off the youngster's final over. Samuels, who'd muscled his way to 44, attempted to see off the young leggie but nicked a googly to keeper Sarfraz, sinking WI further.

The required rate is spiralling out of control now!

Shehzad injury update:

The Pakistan batsman has appeared to have recovered rather quickly from his neck injury. But it's a good sign. He's out on the field and even had words to share with Rovman Powell after the latter's dismissal.

Pakistan fight back with two wickets

Shadab Khan. Got to like this kid. He's not shying away from a battle. Bowls a delightful googly to castle Walton. Hasan Ali then bowls a sharp inducker to catch Lendl Simmons in front. Marlon Samuels seems unperturbed though, he's slammed a succession of boundaries to keep the asking rate in control.

Samuels takes on the spinners

Marlon Samuels is in the mood. He's not going to let the spinners dictate terms in this game. Young Shadab Khan is cut away for four and instantly Samuels has some words to share with the 18-year-old. Imad Wasim meanwhile cops a worse punishment in the following over.

A four that ricochets off the umpre's shin followed by a succession of sixes gives West Indies a 19-run-over. Add some stares to this drama..

Another collision and Ahmed Shehzad is badly injured

There's an ambulance on the field and that's certainly worrying. The good thing though that Ahmed Shehzad is conscious. This is a neck injury so they'll want to be really careful here.

All completely inadvertent. Shehzad charging in from backward point finds himself in the way of Chadwick Walton whose knee rams into Shehzad's neck. He goes down straight away. Worried faces everywhere.

Chase: Bizarre runout costs Lewis

West Indies are a wicket down in this low-scoring chase and some shoddy running has brought about Evin Lewis's downfall. Plays the ball to mid-on with soft hands and sets off for a single. Veers away from a straight-line path upon seeing a fielder arrive to backup the throw. Has a little collision, loses his bat and his feet are in the air as the bails are dislodged.

West Indies camp is not happy. But hey! Those are the rules.

Wahab cameo takes Pakistan to 132

Pakistan will totally take this. It's four runs more than the first innings average here at the Queens Park Oval. And it's all thanks to Wahab Riaz. The pacer has slammed 24 off 10 in a 36-run stand with Shadab Khan. How West Indies will rue all those fielding lapses. There were quite a few at the end too, most notably Jason Hodler failing to hold on to a catch and instead tipping the ball over the ropes.

Going to be a rather tricky chase...
