Hundred off just 35 balls. Nonchalantly smacking deliveries into the stands. Rohit Sharma, India's captain, yet again elevated his game to dizzying heights to paint the Indore stadium with his royal flourish in the second T20I. The hosts duly crushed the Sri Lankan side by a margin of 88 runs to seal the three-match series 2-0.
In what turned out to be a runathon, especially when India batted, the home side crunched 21 sixes and the second highest total in the T20I history. Rohit himself composed the third fastest hundred in T20Is.
Can the beleaguered Sri Lankan side register a consolation win in the final game? They have already lost the services of Mathews after he was ruled due to a hamstring injury. The visitors perhaps would include Shanaka, the all-rounder, or Gunathilaka. On the other hand, India could rest Bumrah ahead of the South Africa tour.
With still enough time left for the match at the Wankhede stadium to begin, check out our preview.
